On July 9th & 10th, 2022 the WHRDA hosted another year of Global Digital Seminars.  While the association of schools and its students normally attend an in-person gathering each summer, including a week long training conference, world championship tournament, and black sash exams, the challenges of the COVID era restrictions on venues, travel, and other logistics were still too present earlier this year which prevented the ability to plan & organize the in-person event.  Nonetheless, the connections of our martial art family run strong, and the gathering for seminars was able to be

After a three year hiatus, the Hwa Rang Do Minneapolis Academy was excited to once again host their annual MUSA Challenge Interschool Tournament. With over 80 competitors from the Minneapolis Academy and Wisconsin clubs combined, the event was a full day of action-packed excitement and meaningful experience for all involved.

The essence of the martial virtue Loyalty is demonstrated by an individual’s dedication to their martial art.  The foundation of this mentality is such that the individual’s spirt and actions promote the general well being of their art through positive endeavors.

The above individual has given his selfless support and service to Hwa Rang Do on countless occasions, and is a model of the martial art virtue Loyalty.

I hope the spring is treating you well, and that the fresh air is invigorating your spirit.  As the seasons change, we must also continue to move forward with our life’s journey.  Of course the past year has been a challenge, and the many governmental lockdowns have inhibited our capacity to gather in-person, yet we recognize that the strength of our community and the bonds of our brotherhood propel us to expand to greater heights.

It is unfortunate that international travel and group events are still under significant restrictions preventing us from another year of our traditional annual Hwa Rang Do summer gathering in person.  However, it is essential that we still gather together and that we will still connect this year through the digital world!  Yes, this summer of 2021 we will be holding a Digital Championship Tournament, special live interactive seminars with Kuksanim & Dojoonim, and also have a celebration of annual awards, tournament results, and a special highlight of Italy’s 20^th Anniversary!
