The Hwa Rang Do® Martial Art is famous because of the countless kicking techniques included in its syllabus.

The Hwa Rang Do® Go Too Gi (Grappling) is one of the sport applications of Hwa Rang Do®. It's for everybody, also for beginners (but limited to positioning for them).You can apply takedowns, sweepings, joint locks and chokes. The match is without stop for points and submissions are allowed to the ground or stand-up.

The Hwa Rang Do® Yong Too Gi is one of the sport application of Hwa Rang Do®. It's for experienced martial students only (at least 3 years of practice, black or colored sashes). No full contact allowed and special sparring gears required. You can use kicks, punches, palm strikes, knifehand strikes, takedowns and joint locks.

The evolution of Korean combat skills began about 5000 years ago with the establishment of the Kochoson kingdom. During the subsequent Three Kingdoms Period, this Korean warrior tradition found a particular expression in the combat skills of the Hwarang warrior system of the ancient kingdom of Silla.

The inside circle-under C-lock can be found in numerous martial arts and in many movies. A dynamic, effective and often misunderstood technique, it is a signature move in Hwa Rang Do® and requires some detailed examination.

“What is martial? Martial is warlike and war was not invented in the twenty-first century, it has existed since beginning of humankind. So does that mean we have to be at war. Absolutely not!

“Fighters fight because they like to fight; Warriors fight because we must.”

This sequence is a short combination of hand strikes and kicking useful to introduce the student to the long and complex Hwa Rang Do Open Hand Form......
