MUSA Challenge Tournament - Minneapolis 2023

The “MUSA CHALLENGE”

Coming up on Saturday April 29th an interschool tournament will be held at the HRD Minneapolis Academy. This event is open to ALL Hwa Rang Do and Tae Soo Do practitioners of all ages and ranks. There will be divisions for children through adults of ALL ranks, so prepare for an exciting day!

The title of this event is the “Musa Challenge” and the term “Musa” in Korean means warrior (or more literally “martial person”). This event will challenge all participants on their total package of skills, as there will be competitions in weapon forms, open hand forms/basics, grappling, sparring, and weapon fighting. Train hard, and prepare for a great day of Hwarang action!

SCHEDULE:

8:30AM = Judges Prep
9:00AM = Check-in Opens
9:30AM = Competition Begins

ORDER OF EVENTS:

1. Weapon Forms & Tiger Basics
2. Open Hand Forms
3. Grappling
4. Sparring
5. Weapon Fighting

All Ages & Ranks of students will compete for each event division category listed above.  As one event completes, we will move directly into the next category.  Sorry, but we are unable to provide specific times due to the many subdivisions that will occur for each category.  Event divisions will progress from beginner to intermediate to advanced levels.

Pre-Registration by Friday April 21st

$50 For First 2 Divisions plus
$10 For Each Additional Division

Registration from Saturday April 22nd to April 27th

$60 For First 2 Divisions plus
$10 For Each Additional Division

Late / On-Site Registration After April 27th Midnight

$70 For First 2 Divisions plus
$10 For Each Additional Division

Everyone is encouraged to compete all divisions so you can gain experience, evolve yourself, and gain skills in all areas of Hwa Rang Do and Tae Soo Do.
